MEET JOSH
Hello! My name is Josh Hawley, and I'm running for re-election to the Grand Island Public Schools Board of Education. My experience growing up as the son of a Navy man, constantly moving, instilled in me a strong sense of service and a commitment to making sure every student feels they belong. I've been a resident of Grand Island for over 18 years, and although I wasn’t born here, I’m an Islander by choice. My wife Lisa and I have five children, four of whom attend GISH, and we've also taken in three nieces and nephews. I currently serve as the Vice President of the BOE and lead the GISH Show Choir Board and the "Dad Crew," staying deeply involved in our school community. I’m passionate about the unique diversity of our student body and believe that our policies must serve all students equally and equitably. My focus as a board member is to ensure that every child has a place to thrive, whether in sports, clubs, or the fine arts. I also believe that education is key for both students and board members, so I prioritize continuous learning to make informed decisions. In everything I do on the board, I ask myself, "Does this serve all kids?"
I am an independent thinker; NO CHAPERONE REQUIRED!
